People who help us

We are thinking about people who help us in our community.

Charlie’s mum Vickie is a police sergeant. she talked to us about what she has to carry to do her job – a torch, pepper spray, a taser, handcuffs… and lots of other things. She helps people every day, she looks for lost people or belongings, she helps victims of crime and she keeps us safe by stopping and catching criminals. She also talked to us about the work that police dogs do.

Mrs Connor’s son Max is a lifeguard at the swimming pool. He helps people have fun and stay safe in the water. He told us that he sits on a very high chair so he can see everyone in the pool and make sure they are safe. He uses a buoy or a long pole to help rescue people. He has saved six people.
